The sun is shining and Cairo is purring once more

After 4 months, a full engine rebuild and more stories than you can shake a stick at (coming soon) Cairo finally sets sail again.  Engine is now purring like  a cat and all is good, well for now at least !!

The engine is so quiet all you can hear is that bloody dog barking at me :-)

Boat has been Purchased – no turning back now

The Narrow boat “Cairo” was purchased at Braunston on 21st September 2010 after final checks and test runs. All seemed well.

I hope you enjoy the site I have just set up and make sure you have a look at the Captain’s Log menu, where you can find much more details of my adventures on the High Seas

Click here to view the first eventful one

One amusing picture though from my first trip – this made me nearly cry as I lost complete propulsion going through the locks at Warwick , spent two hours thinking my engine was Kapput !! and finally when we looked in the weed hatch we found . . .

The things you find

Lesson Number One – Check the weed hatch for grown men and rope walkers !!
